Such Meltdowns Don't Happen Everyday

Big tech companies seem to do one of two major things: fade into the background or collapse dramatically. It appears that a group of insultingly wealthy people has decided to see if Twitter can be controlled or destroyed. Having broken social contracts any social media makes with each of its users, Twitter looks set for the dramatic collapse as the serfs seek social media rulers with at least the illusion of integrity. This leaves power users to diversify or risk losing their source of influence.

I'm using Publii for my site management. It's stupid simple (for me ;-) ) yet works very well. I can dump straight html into a free level s3 endpoint with http enabled to host it. Unfortunately, the theme I'm using (TechNews) doesn't yet have a contacts section for Mastadon. I keep glancing at the theme code as if it might make sense to me and I'll be able to blam it in. Honestly, it sorta does make sense and I'm pretty sure I could get some structure in there but my patience at troubleshooting the various issues I will cause is not great. I do however think I can get Mastodon "verification" working. We'll see...
